How it all began…

200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training in Spain: Wild Warrior Yoga’s Origin Story

Wild Warrior Yoga is owned and led by the two senior teachers of our 200-hour yoga teacher training: Lascel de la Bruvs and Morwenna Truscott.

A Small, Personal Yoga School in Europe

We are a small, family run school, deeply invested in both the quality of our training and the experience of every person who walks through our doors. In a world increasingly shaped by middlemen, large corporations and automation, we are committed to staying intentionally small and people focused.

Many of our students ask how it all began…

We met while living and travelling in India, both immersed in the world of yoga. Lascel, after years of teaching hot yoga internationally, had transitioned into Ashtanga yoga and began teaching at a school in Goa where Morwenna was already based.

After a season of teaching together, we found ourselves increasingly disillusioned. Class sizes were growing, but attention to students and the quality of training was shrinking. At times, groups reached up to 60 students. The experience felt impersonal, and the depth of teaching we valued was being lost.
So in 2017, alongside another teacher, we made a decision: to create something different. A school rooted in integrity, connection and high quality teaching.

That decision led us to open our first yoga school in southern Spain.

After three years of running trainings, the pandemic brought everything to a sudden pause. Like so many others, we had to close the doors of our first school and with that ending came the beginning of a new chapter.

A New Chapter in Spain

In April 2021, we found our new home, tucked away in the Barbate Nature Reserve, surrounded by pine trees and overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. It’s here that we’ve remained ever since, continuing to grow Wild Warrior Yoga as a small, heart led school.

What we experienced in those early years continues to shape how we run our trainings today. Having seen first hand how quickly quality can be diluted in larger groups, we’ve chosen a different path.

What Makes Our Yoga Teacher Training Different

We are one of the few yoga schools (maybe the only one!) in Europe offering a full 28 day immersive 200 hour yoga teacher training, with group sizes intentionally capped at just 12 students.

Every training is led directly by us as the lead teachers, supported by two assistants and a dedicated chef. This allows us to create an environment where each student is genuinely supported, seen and guided throughout the entire experience.

For students, this means:

  • Direct access to experienced lead teachers throughout the training

  • Personalised feedback and guidance

  • A supportive group dynamic

  • Space to develop both confidence and depth in practice

Over a Decade of Teaching Experience

With more than a decade of experience assisting, teaching, and leading yoga teacher trainings since 2016, we bring both depth and continuity to what we offer. Our focus has never been on scaling up, but on maintaining the quality, integrity and personal connection that first inspired us to create Wild Warrior Yoga.

Entering Our Sixth Season of Yoga Teacher Trainings

As we enter our sixth season, we feel deeply grateful to continue sharing what we’ve learned and to welcome each new group of students into the journey with us.

If you are looking for a 200 hour yoga teacher training or professional development course in Spain that offers depth, personal attention and a truly immersive experience, Wild Warrior Yoga may just be the right fit for you.
